Video Interview, David Maurer awarded highest honor from Preservation NC

David recently won the DeWayne H. Anderson award for Housing from Preservation NC at their annual conference in Asheville. 

Jack Kessler from Preservation NC sat down with David for an interview about his work and the ripple effects of upper level residential. To hear what David is most proud of about this work and some examples of these projects watch the video above.

Awarded for his visionary leadership in promoting upper-level residential housing as a catalyst for downtown revitalization across North Carolina. The Anderson Award is the highest honor given by Preservation North Carolina for the creation or preservation of housing in historic buildings.

“The committee advised that the vote was unanimous for David to win the Anderson Housing Award. A truly meaningful acknowledgement of his hard work and efforts to not only preserve historic buildings, but this award specifically recognizes the innovative use of historic buildings to create new and/or updated housing.”
