NC Main Street Conference, 2026

The NC Main Street Conference— one of the largest annual statewide Main Street conferences in the U.S.—returns this March in New Bern, bringing together national leaders shaping the future of Main Street communities.

In the Panel Session “Check In, Revive, & Thrive: Boutique Hotels Boosting Downtown Economies”, David will join four other industry professionals to explore how boutique hotels are breathing new life into historic buildings and energizing downtown districts. This panel will highlight real-world success stories and practical strategies showing how this specific hospitality can attract visitors, support local businesses, and transform underutilized spaces into economic powerhouses.

David will share insights learned from Heights House in Raleigh, an award winning conversion of a historic home into a 9 room hotel and event center, while also utilizing historic tax credits. Other projects to be discussed include boutique hotels of varying sizes in Kinston, Wilson, Mt. Airy, and New Bern.
