The Benchwarmers Bagels project located in the historic Transfer Co. Food Hall on the east side of downtown Raleigh is complete and is already a big hit (in advance of their opening day). The new bagel + Jubala coffee collaboration officially opens to the public this Thursday, February 7th, but a soft opening was held this past weekend—they sold out of bagels each day!
The space is warm, approachable, bright and comfortable. The large front bar provides ample space for the making of coffee and specialty espresso drinks, while the kitchen is carefully organized around a large central wood burning oven. The kitchen is open to the seating area, which allows customers to take in the full experience: from shaping dough, to boiling and baking bagels, to crafting made-to-order sandwiches. A cozy seating area looks out onto the sunny courtyard through the large, historic steel windows.
