Grand Opening! The Carriage House at Merrimon Wynne celebrates the season with a spring soiree!
Friday, April 8, 2016 marked the grand opening celebration for the Carriage House events venue at the historic Merrimon Wynne in downtown Raleigh.
Historic Restoration has begun at 106 Person St. in Fayetteville!
Historic restoration project underway in Fayetteville's Market House Square National Register Historic District! The historic tax credit project will have two apartments constructed on the second floor, with a new confectionery and commercial kitchen on the ground level. Let the fun begin!
Tarlton House to host its first event in new home!
Wasting no time, the Tarlton House will soon be host to North Carolina State University College of Design, Master of Art + Design Thesis Exhibition. Monarch Property and The Pink Building are proud to present Shelley Smith + Sally Van Gorder at 414 New Bern Ave., the new home of the historic Tarlton House.
Historic Tarlton House is home sweet home!
The historic Levin-Tarlton House is all settled into its new home at 414 New Bern Ave! The house, a two-story Neo-classical Revival built in 1914, was previously located at 208 North Harrington St. and moved to the Oakwood Historic District in mid February.
Permits pulled for New Brewery and Artist Production Space on S. Bloodworth!
A lot of exciting things are happening in Southeast Raleigh! Permits for a multi-tenant space in an existing historic building at 1401 S. Bloodworth were recently pulled and work will soon begin. Approximately 7200 sf will be home to Plenty, the production brewery whose new tap room will be located at the old Tir Na Nog space on Blount St. Get a load of those bowstring trusses! Also sharing the Bloodworth space will be Anchorlight, an artist production facility that aims to provide professional development opportunities to area artists and to foster leadership among artists through community engagement opportunities. New Facade on Center Street
The building at 141 North Center Street in downtown Goldsboro is in the process of being restored to its former glory. In its 'before' state the brick facade had been plastered and the original doors and windows had been removed. The altered facade was removed in 2015, and the new facade is now under construction.
NC Main Street Conference
This week Maurer Architecture took a trip to the NC Main Street Conference in Goldsboro. We enjoyed the beautiful weather and scenery, and were able to catch up with some old friends.
Former Dr. Pepper Bottling Facility
Built in 1935, the downtown Raleigh Dr. Pepper bottling plant was in operation for nearly 40 years. The building is now undergoing a full historic renovation using historic tax credits.
Rosenwald Documentary Screening
Join us on February 28 at the NC Museum of History for a free screening of the Rosenwald documentary. The film tells an uplifting story about the creation of thousands of schools for African-American children in the early 1900's.
New Reception Hall at the Merrimon-Wynne House
The popular downtown wedding venue is gaining some much-needed square footage this year! The new space is taking the place of an existing party tent and will provide a large open area for social gatherings.
2016 Best Restaurant in the Triangle
Death and Taxes was awarded Restaurant of the Year by the News and Observer in their annual Best Restaurants of the Triangle column. Congratulations to Chef Ashley Christensen and the whole Death and Taxes team!
Trophy on Maywood: Open for Business
Over the winter holidays, Trophy Brewing Company opened their second location on Maywood Avenue. The new space features an expansive 20-barrel brewhouse complete with a cozy taproom and outdoor gathering space.
Historic Goldsboro Drug Company
The renovation of this former drugstore on Center Street is almost complete. The new space will include a large seating area for Ed's Southern Food & Spirits on the first floor, and two loft apartments upstairs.
Construction Begins on Peace Street
Spectraforce Technologies will soon have a new home on Peace Street. Construction is officially underway!
The renovation will transform a formerly dark storefront into an open and flexible two-story office space. Complete with living walls and bright work areas, the renovation will breathe new life into the 500 block of Peace Street.
Jeffers, Mann & Artman Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine, P.A.
The new Holly Springs office of Jeffers, Mann & Artman is almost complete! We are approaching the final weeks of the construction process. The doors of the new medical office are expected to open in late November.
Anthemion Awards
We are pleased to be among the honorees of Capital Area Preservation's 2015 Anthemion Awards. Each year the awards are given in recognition of "outstanding dedication and commitment to excellence in historic preservation in Wake County."
A Peek Into the 2015 Rosenwald Conference
Back in June, David and Laurie presented at the National Rosenwald Schools Conference in Durham. Their session, entitled 'Restoring your Rosenwald School: A Road Map to Success,' outlined the process for restoration from start to finish. Now Open: Carolina Brewing Company Taproom
The CBC taproom in Holly Springs celebrated their grand opening this past weekend. The taproom expansion provided some much need seating, a new bar, new access into the existing brewery, and a new glass storefront that leads out to a side patio.
