Three Maurer Architecture boutique-hotel projects highlighted in Raleigh Magazine
The March edition of Raleigh Magazine highlights the most recent boutique hotels in Raleigh. The article mentions three out of five Maurer projects that have opened since 2015, or will open later this year. Raleigh follows the lead of Durham in the introduction of boutique hotels to the Triangle area. The Durham Hotel, also a Maurer Architecture project, greatly inspired continued this growth trend of boutique hotels, which has been exemplified through its success. Click to read more!

Formerly an uneventful Days Inn that sat at the northern gateway to downtown Raleigh for decades, the newly opened Longleaf Hotel now welcomes drivers into downtown with bright neon letters reminiscent of the property’s mid-century motor lodge past.
The renovation of the hotel into a vintage-style 57-room motor lodge with modern twists is a first for LODEN Properties, the Raleigh-based developer that undertook the project.
Update on Gig East Exchange in Wilson, NC
Things are starting to come together at The Gig East Exchange in Wilson, NC. Framing has been completed and the elevator shaft is in place. We're excited to see this project finish construction in late spring!
Addition Approved for Carolina Civic Center (Historic Theater) in Lumberton, NC
The Carolina Civic Center addition in Lumberton, NC has been approved by City Council; design drawings are currently in progress. The project, located in the heart of downtown Lumberton, will include a lobby addition and an event space. Bidding for the project is scheduled to begin this summer, with construction beginning in fall 2020.

Phase I: Trophy Brewing and Pizza Expansion is Officially Open, and Phase II: Construction is Underway!

Union Special Bread Opening Soon in Gateway Plaza!
Union Special, the bakery cafe helmed by Andrew Ullom of AC Restaurant fame, will soon open its doors at Gateway Plaza along the Capital Blvd corridor. The bakers are already hard at work and the open, airy cafe space is almost complete! You can look forward to pastries, bread, breakfast all day and lunch with a dedicated local focus, as Ullom will be baking with all roller-milled and stone ground flours made in NC!
